1 Peren ‘LOCKDOWN FESTIVAL’ - viral video on WhatsApp 10th April 2020 A video which depicted the ruthless killing of wild animals including Barking deer and large Indian civet cat went viral in second-third week of the month. Investigation by the Forest Department followed, into the incident and zeroing down on the suspects. The Department traced and identified the culprits using in-house capability and on 21st Apr 2020, four suspects have surrendered. The case is being investigated further as per relevant sections of the Wildlife Protection Act 1972 and other relevant laws as applicable.
2 Dimapur Video of few Persons from Nihoto Village harassing some non locals by car tape recorder circulated in social media 16th April 2020 Harrasment in name of recording temperature Case Registered at Dipuphar PS 57/20 u/s 153 A(1) IPC and one person involved arrested.
3 Dimapur Video of few Naga youths Persons beating three non locals including a lady badly circulating in social media 17th April 2020 Reportedly the non locals were hiding a migrant who came from across the border, hence the local youths from Vidima village, Dimapur started beating them. Case Registered at Sub urban PS 57/2020 U/S 153(A)(1)/323/34 IPC and 4 persons involved arrested so far.
4 Mokokchung A person had committed suicide in Mokokchung 17th April 2020 The person belongs to Silchar. A painter staying in Mokokchung for past three years. Investigation has began. Inquest conducted. Police submitted report under 174 crpc. Sample collected and tested for COVID 19 and found negative.
5 Zunheboto Killing of Sambhar in Aghunato area in Zunheboto district 17th April 2020 A video on hunting of Sambar deer surfaced on social media about a week ago. The village area of the incident has been identified. The Forest Department is in touch with the village and District Administration for further action. A team is to be dispatched once a green signal is received from the Administration for moving into the village owing to lockdown.
6 Kohima Leakage of data pertaining to stranded people including Aadhaar number, Mobile number and Bank details, who submitted data in Iamstranded website 22nd April 2020 Data of stranded people who had submitted data in Iamstranded portal was compiled and sent to different Organizations / Unions in different states to verify the details and revert back.
